How do you create a private group?
Create the group in Ordsnok, give it a name and invite people you know with a unique link. The link is an entry point, not a public directory. If you post it in an open channel, people who were never meant to join the family or team may gain access. An invited player opens the link in a browser or the app and continues in Ordsnok.
A group does not need to invent a new game rule. Members use the same language choice, word lengths, attempts and hints as elsewhere in Ordsnok. The group is a social layer around results, not another answer key or a separate word game.
What can members see in the activity view?
The activity view shows what the group needs to follow along: completed challenges, reactions, collective streaks and member streaks. It is designed for an informal competition, so a player can see who has started without gaining access to another person’s complete guesses or private account details.
Daily result lists are spoiler-safe. A player who has not submitted should not be able to read the target word from the group. Once the challenge is finished or a result is safe to share, the group can use the overview to talk about effort and encourage one another.

How do group and member streaks work?
A member streak follows one player’s completed games over time. A collective streak describes the group’s shared activity. Neither streak guarantees a particular rank or reward. They are a simple way to follow the group’s playing habits.
What is the difference between group and global rankings?
Group rankings and player summaries cover daily results. Global rankings can also include random games, but they do not show another player’s individual game history.
This boundary matters for privacy and spoilers. You can compare positions without opening every attempt from a stranger. A group is not a public chat either; reactions and activity are features around the game, not a place for open messages.
Can you start without Apple or Google sign-in?
Yes. You do not need to link Apple or Google to begin; an anonymous player profile is enough for groups. If you link a provider later, the link preserves that same profile and server-backed results.
